Tokyo, Japan. September 5, 2007 - eSOL, a leading developer of real-time embedded software solutions,
today announced that its flagship eBinder integrated development environment
(IDE) and its PrKERNELv4 real-time operating system (RTOS) suites are now
available for Texas Instruments' (TI) new TMS320DM355 low-power digital
media processor based on DaVinci™ technology.
"We are very pleased to offer more and more software development solutions
for this highly competitive new TI processor," said Bob Ueyama, Executive
Vice President, Embedded Products Division at eSOL Co., Ltd. "Our
product value proposition is a perfect match with the product concept of
DM355, and I envision that our software will serve as a robust system foundation
for our customers, reducing the overall embedded development lifecycle."
"I am very excited that we are extending our engagement with eSOL
for this highly integrated, high-performance yet low-cost digital video
processor," said John Dixon, Low Power DSP Manager, Worldwide Catalog
Marketing at TI. "TI and eSOL have worked together on a number of
customer designs for Fortune 500 consumer electronics companies, and I
am confident that our customers will continue to appreciate eSOL's robust
offering with their strong and proven embedded software expertise."
eSOL's PrKERNELv4 RTOS suites include the proven, ultra-efficient, cost-and-memory
saving µITRON compliant micro-kernel. This accompanies a wide range
of middleware packages-including FAT file system, USB peripheral and host
driver, and TCP/IP stack with WiFi support-to meet today's evolving software
requirements for digital consumer electronics. Seamless integration and
availability of direct drop-in drivers for the TI DM355 also help to jump-start
system software development.
With their memory-saving compact size, fast performance, and rich availability of middleware and drivers, PrKERNELv4 RTOS suites are ideally suited for original design manufacturers (ODMs) and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) looking to minimize development times. The suites also help to bring down overall bill-of-material (BOM) costs, which aligns with TI's strategy for DM355.
The eBinder IDE offers the industry's leading ARM RVCT compiler, along with comprehensive debugging and profiling tools to fine-tune the embedded application. It uses insightful snapshots of the PrKERNELv4 RTOS suites to help both firmware and application engineers easily identify glitches in programs and low-level drivers. This increases overall productivity, ensuring timely product launch to market.
"ODMs and OEMs are under more competitive pressures than ever due
to increasing levels of technology complexity and advancement," said
Ueyama. "They face a number of time and budget constraints that can
impede success in today's marketplace. Consequently, it is getting more
critical to shorten overall development times while adding more features
for product differentiation."
Availability
PrKERNELv4 RTOS Suite and eBinder are available for DM355 now. The board support package for TI's DM355 Digital Video Evaluation Module is expected in Q4, 2007.
