[Product News] eSOL's Functional Safety Certified RTOS Supports Texas Instruments' Sitara Family for Industry 4.0, Including the Latest AM6x Processor

eSOL's functional safety certified real-time OS "eT-Kernel™" now supports TI's multiprotocol gigabit (Gb) time-sensitive networking (TSN)-enabled industrial-grade Sitara processor family, including Sitara AM6x processor. Having obtained the functional safety standard certification for IEC 61508 SIL 4 for industrial equipment, eT-Kernel helps developers achieve high-reliability, high quality, and real-time properties required in Industry 4.0 systems using the Sitara processor family.

The Sitara family is a processor family for industrial applications, and features Arm Cortex-A8/A9/A15/A53 cores. It offers support for multiple Industrial Ethernet protocols and a product lineup that features peripherals tailored to user needs. In addition, it has an abundant track record in the industrial field. eT-Kernel supports all processors in the Sitara family, and makes it possible to use a common platform with the same OS and development environment in systems development, regardless of whether the processor is single- or multi-core. eT-Kernel also offers a wide variety of middleware such as network and USB stacks.

■ Sitara Processor Family Supported by eT-Kernel
 - AM335x (Arm Cortex-A8 Single-core processor)
 - AM43xx (Arm Cortex-A9 Single-core processor)
 - AM57xx (Arm Cortex-A15 Multi-core processor)
 - AM65xx (Arm Cortex-A53 Multi-core processor)

eT-Kernel has obtained product certifications under the IEC 61508 SIL 4 and ISO 26262 ASIL D functional safety standards. Functional safety is one of the critical factors in the industrial field where the realization of Industry 4.0 and smart factories are called for. The functional safety certified eT-Kernel will contribute to the achievement of functional safety for the user system.
